Summary

“Aconcagua”is a SaaS platform built to automate the permit management workflow for businesses operating on Mount Aconcagua. It was inspired by real work I did for a local company, where I saw firsthand how much time was spent on repetitive manual tasks. I designed the platform to simplify these tasks and turn hours of manual work into a streamlined digital system.

My process

The idea for “Aconcagua” came from real work I did with a local Aconcagua tourism company, where I saw how much time was spent manually managing permits. I started by mapping the workflow and identifying opportunities for automation, then designed the system’s structure and user flows. From there, I moved into interface design and development, focusing on creating a simple experience for users while handling complex processes behind the scenes.

Key Features

Some standout features of this system are:

  • AI-powered document scanning to automatically detect client names and nationalities from uploaded images.
  • Automatic PDF generation and merging from image documents belonging to the same client.
  • Gmail integration for draft email generation and automatic client information retrieval.
  • Smart document cleanup to keep the system lightweight and optimize storage usage

Takeaways

Building “Aconcagua” on my own pushed me to think not just like a developer, but like a product designer—identifying a real problem, designing a solution, and turning it into a working system. It taught me how to structure a full SaaS platform, integrate external services, and build automation that meaningfully reduces repetitive work.
